Little Birdy is the result of a knowledge exchange between Hit Search Limited and the University of Liverpool, in development for the last 2 years.
Led by Dr. Ayesh Alshukri, the software as a service offer, is in response to a gap in the market spotted by Hit Search Direct Andy Redfern, back in 2011. The search marketing experts at Hit Search recognised that brand reputation was not only becoming increasing difficult to track and manage, but that it was also having a direct impact on companies bottom line.
Andy said “We have been commissioned by a number of Venture Capitalist firms to research the digital footprints of potential organisations for purchase. On many occasions it has shaped the buying decision making process, when revealing the true online value of the business.”
The Little Birdy project involves large scale cloud computing and big data. It has data mining algorithms as its core functionality, all of which we find very exciting technologies, and believe the project has enticing prospects ahead. Dr Alshukri said “I was seeking a commercial application for the research we were undertaking at the University and with Hit Searches experience, it made perfect sense to work together.”
A product development road map is due to be revealed later this year with features including
- Custom sentiment analysis
- Continual expansion of data sources
- Continual improvements to user interface
